Located in the Cisne Medio sector, Villa Amengual was founded in 1983, after the Carretera Austral was first opened. It lies very close to the Cisnes River, making it a must-visit destination for fly fishers.

The town also plays an important role in the preservation of cultural traditions, which are celebrated in events such as the International Equestrian Festival, which brings together locals and people from nearby countries to participate in folkloric demonstrations, enjoy cuisine from the area, and attend traditional handicraft shows.
